A LEVEL RESULTS 2019
Students and staff at Hagley Catholic High School are celebrating fantastic A Level results today with 25% of entries achieving grades A*-A, 47% achieving A*-B and 65% achieving A*-C. We are thrilled with these results in a year where there has been a reported decline in the top grades awarded nationally.
The school is exceptionally proud of all of its students as they prepare for the next stage of their lives, which for many will mean taking up places at universities across the country. The destinations for the students are extremely impressive.
Top performers include:
Laura Elcock who achieved 4 A*’s (including Extended Project qualification). Laura has accepted a place at Cambridge to study Veterinary Science.
Cameron MacLeod, who achieved 4A*’s (including Extended Project qualification), is heading to Oxford to read medicine.
Joshua McEvilly, who gained 4 A*’s (including Extended Project qualification) and a grade A in Further Maths, will take up a place at Cambridge where he will read Chemical Engineering.
Euan Coxon, having gained an A* and 3 A’s (including Extended Project qualification), has accepted a place at the University of Newcastle where he will study medicine.
Principal, Suzanne Horan, said, “I am absolutely delighted for all of our students. These results reflect their hard work and dedication throughout the last two years. I am sure that they would agree, however, that they could not have achieved such success without the unrelenting support and encouragement from their families and the school. It has been a pleasure to see students and staff working together to produce such tremendous achievement. We are both delighted and proud to see so many students securing places at university or on prestigious apprenticeships and we wish our wonderful students well as they embark upon the next chapter of their lives.”
Vice Principal and Director of Sixth Form, Kesner Morris, said, “We are really proud of everything our students have achieved. What is most impressive is the work ethic and ambition the students have demonstrated to achieve such excellence. I wish them every success in what promises to be a very bright and promising future”.
