Hagley Catholic High School
Principal: Mr J Hodgson

Called as God’s family, we strive to achieve our personal best, by living and learning in Christ.

Head of Year 7 and Transition Lead Welcome

It is my pleasure to introduce myself as Transition Lead at Hagley Catholic High School and to thank you for identifying our school as your preferred choice for your child's secondary education. Our mission is for all members of our community, to recognise that they are called as God's family, to strive to achieve their personal best, by living and learning in Christ.

In helping the children to realise this we offer a comprehensive transition package to all students who are transitioning to us, designed to empower your child to take ownership of their move to secondary school, supported by our professional and experienced staff.

Students who are allocated places at Hagley for a Year 7 start will receive three transition day visits in the first week of July. These visits are designed to help children familiarise themselves with the workings of a busy secondary school so that they can feel reassured for September and confident about what they will experience. Children attending our named feeders will have already attended Hagley for a sports afternoon in the summer of Year 5 and then joined us in the Autumn of Year 6 for taster mornings.

You can contact me limrie@emmausmac.com or our Admissions Officer, Mrs O'Brien admissions_hchs@emmausmac.com for further details and information about transition.

I look forward to working with you and your child to set them off on their secondary education journey of success.

Mrs L Imrie

Head of Year 7 and Transition Lead

SUMMER TERM BEFORE TRANSITION

Parents and carers of our new intake will receive key information relating to our Year 7 Induction Days, uniform ordering, transportation and other transition information in April.

All new families are invited to Intake Information Evening in the Summer Term. This will be an opportunity to meet key staff, purchase school uniform and ask any questions about your child's transition to Hagley Catholic High School. The evening includes an intake presentation led by our Principal, Mr Hodgson and Head of Year 7 and Transition, Mrs Imrie. Our SENDCO, Ms Hackett is also available throughout the evening in the 'Hub'.

All new pupils will attend three Year 7 Induction Days in early July.

Ahead of the Year 7 main induction days there will also be Additional Transition Afternoons for individual students who are not currently in one of our named feeder schools, and those students identified by their primary schools as in need of additional transitional arrangements, to cater to their needs. Parents and carers of relevant students will receive confirmation from the school via email once allocations have been determined.
