Hagley Catholic High School Sixth Form
The highest performing Sixth Form for progress in the local area.
It gives me great pleasure to invite you to join our vibrant and successful Sixth Form. Students at Hagley Sixth Form make outstanding progress, and this is evident in our results. We are proud to celebrate our outstanding results achieved this summer. With an impressive 30% of our students achieving A *- A, nearly 60% achieving A *- B and an overall average grade B, it is no surprise that over a third of the cohort have gone on to study at the prestigious Russell Group universities.
Studying with us allows you to access 24 A-Level subjects and teaching of the highest standard. In addition, we offer Level 3 Applied General Qualifications in Criminology, Health & Social Care, Sport and Computing which are proving to be highly successful.
These qualifications carry the same number of UCAS points as traditional A-Levels but contain a smaller element of examinations. We advise our students to select a package of 3 A-Level subjects and EPQ.
Our exacting standards will ensure that you encounter exciting and stimulating leaming experiences whatever subject pathway you follow.
Our Sixth Form is known throughout the area for the consistently high quality of its examination results.
If you are aiming for the some of the most prestigious institutions in the country, or some of the most competitive courses, such as Oxford, Cambridge, Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science, then you can have confidence in our specialised programme.
Our apprenticeships support and guidance is equally impressive, with students consistently securing the most competitive Degree Apprenticeships after completing their A-Levels at Hagley Sixth Form. At the same time, we are a welcoming, inclusive community where every student is encouraged and challenged to achieve their full academic potential, regardless of their starting point.
Alongside securing academic success we ensure that opportunities are provided to nurture every student's needs and wants. For example, students have been supported to undertake a gap year teaching young children in deprived areas of Africa or Thailand.
Our examination results speak for themselves. However, what is harder for us to communicate is the ethos of our Sixth Form. This can be summed up in the
phrase 'family atmosphere". Every student is known and supported as an individual member of our community. We want every student to
enjoy and achieve, to be healthy and safe, to lay the foundations of their future economic well-being and to
make a positive contribution to society.
At Hagley Sixth Form, we understand the value of supporting our students' personal development.
We have a highly successful super curricular programme, with students engaging in a wide range
of activities to show a deeper academic interest and capability in a subject beyond the Sixth Form curriculum.
Our Catholic Faith which inspires us to love God and to love our neighbour, which creates the sense of being a family and sharing a common purpose. Consequently, the Sixth Form is a totally inclusive community that allows all students to be enriched academically,
spiritually and morally. In essence, it is an exciting and happy environment to study where every student is supported to give of their very best.
