Year 7 Intake Admissions 2026-27
Applications for the Year 7 Intake September 2026 opened on 1st September 2025. The deadline for both local authority application forms and all supporting documentation (i.e. completed Supplementary Information Forms and evidence of Catholic Baptism) to be completed and submitted was 31st October 2025.
National Offer Day - Monday 2nd March 2026
On Monday 2nd March 2026, National Offer Day, all parents and carers who have applied for a Year 7 place for their child using the school admission application of the Local Authority in which they live, will receive notification of the outcome of their application either electronically or by post. If a family has named Hagley Catholic High School on their application and is offered a place at the school, they must confirm acceptance of this offer through whatever process their local authority indicates.
Please Note: Every local authority will have its own specific approach, and some may indicate that you do not need to let them know if you plan to accept the offer, only if you are refusing it
If your Local Authority states that, 'If you have been offered a school outside their Local Authority that you should contact the relevant Authority' you can do so by completing the MS Form, Year 7 Intake September 2026 - Confirmation of Acceptance linked below. The admissions process for Hagley Catholic High School is part of the Worcestershire Local Authority co-ordinated admissions scheme and School Admissions, Worcestershire have indicated that they will accept confirmations from parents via this method.
In addition, to support Hagley Catholic High School in confirming its cohort for Year 7 in September 2026 as early as possible we also ask that all parents of pupils who have been offered a Year 7 Intake place at Hagley Catholic High School for September 2026 through their local authority, also confirm acceptance of their place directly with the school by completing this MS Form. This will support the school in communicating with all new parents as early as possible using our Arbor Parent Portal.
Families of pupils who have been allocated a place at Hagley Catholic High School, and who have accepted their offer, will receive a Welcome Letter via email in early April 2026.
In the meantime, for further information on Year 6 Transition to secondary school please refer to our website at Year 6 Transition
Wait List
Children who have not been offered a place at Hagley Catholic High School in the Year 7 Intake September 2026 but were offered a school that was ranked as a lower preference on their application form will automatically be added to the Year 7 Intake waiting list for Hagley Catholic High School.
It is normal for a small number of offers to be declined after National Offer Day and these places will be reallocated from our Wait List once all acceptances are confirmed across all relevant Local Authorities. This is likely to be early in the Summer Term 2026.
Local Authorities strongly encourage families to accept their initial offer to ensure that every child has a guaranteed school place for September 2026. The offer being accepted will not affect your child's wait list position for any of your higher preference schools or influence the outcome of any appeal you may submit.
If you did not apply to Hagley Catholic High School in the normal admissions round but now wish to be placed on our Wait List for a place in the Year 7 Intake 2026, you must submit a late application through your home Local Authority. In addition, you will also need to complete a Hagley Catholic High School Supplementary Information Form (SIF) - Year 7 Intake 2026-27 linked below and provide a copy of your child's Baptismal Certificate, if appropriate.
A child's position on a waiting list is not fixed. When a new child joins the waiting list, all applicants on that waiting list will be re-ranked to ensure that the list is always maintained in oversubscription criteria order. This means that a child's position on the waiting list could go up or down during the time that it is on the list. Any late applications accepted will be added to the waiting list in accordance with the oversubscription criteria.
Inclusion on the waiting list does not mean that a place will eventually become available. It may be that those already offered places may accept them, thereby filling all available places.
Children on the waiting list who currently attend a named feeder school who have not been offered a place in the school by the beginning of the Autumn term 2026 will be re-ranked to take into account that they will no longer be attending that feeder school from 1st September 2026. This will affect the oversubscription criteria that the child is placed into on the waiting list from 1st September 2026.
Appeals
Parents and carers who wish to appeal against the decision of the Board of Directors to refuse their child a place in the school may request an appeal. All appeals will be heard by an Independent Appeal Panel. The deadline for lodging an appeal and providing relevant supporting evidence is Friday 13th April 2026. Appeals can be lodged in writing.
A copy of the Application for An Independent Appeal Panel Hearing can be found below. The completed form should be sent to the Chair of the Board of Directors c/o Mrs S O'Brien, Admissions Officer via email to admissions_hchs@emmausmac.com

Annual Year 7 Intake Open Day
Every year the school holds an Annual Open Morning in early October for Year 5 and 6 families to visit the school, meet current staff and students and to ask any questions they may have about secondary education. For the Year 7 Intake - September 2026 our Annual Open Morning was held on Saturday 4th October 2025.
We recognise that sometimes other commitments mean that families cannot always attend. We therefore also offer a limited number of small group tours during school hours following the main Open Morning and prior to the Year 7 Intake application closing date of 31st October 2025. These tours will be conducted by a member of our Senior Leadership Team and will take up to one hour.
In Year Applications (i.e. not part of the normal admission round for Year 7)
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the normal admissions round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. Applications should be made via Worcestershire local authority using the in-year admissions application form on the Worcestershire County Council Citizen Portal, which is available via the link at the bottom of this page. You will need to upload an Education History Form (EHF) which should be completed by the student's current secondary school. The local authority will forward your application to the school for consideration by the Local Governing Body.
As a Catholic High School, all parents or carers will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) in addition to the standard application form that is submitted to Worcestershire local authority. The online Supplementary Information Form (SIF) - In Year Transfers 2025-26 can be completed below, or a hard copy can be provided on request by contacting the school office or emailing admissions_hchs@emmausmac.com.
If a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) is not submitted directly to the school this may affect the priority given to the application and could affect the likelihood of your child being offered a place. Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the Admission Arrangements for 2025-26, will be applied.
The full admission arrangements can be accessed from the Admissions Arrangements Policy which is hyperlinked above or by contacting the Admissions Officer to request a hard copy. Parents or carers are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.
You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of its receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of its receipt. The local authority will notify of the outcome of your application on behalf of the Local Governing Body.
Where a place is available you will receive a formal offer. A start date should be confirmed as soon as possible. Places cannot be reserved. If there are no places available, you will be advised to contact the school directly if you wish your child to be placed on the waiting list for that year group. Please see the admission arrangements for more details regarding waiting lists.
Parents and carers who wish to appeal against the decision of the Board of Directors to refuse their child a place in the school may request an appeal. All appeals will be heard by an Independent Appeal Panel.
